T.G.I.F. huh??

Well, I guess it's been a very while since the last time we posts something on this precious blog of our dear friendship. Even though, some part of this friendship has turned out to be a loveship actually. Yes! Yes, I am talking about the one that requests a post with the shortest post in this earth right before this post, since both of them are the contributor for this blog. Please, sir, make yourself a real post also... :D

Now, now, since we have grown a little, and most of us have graduated and trapped inside the cruel, real-life, maybe a little shifting in our genre would be acceptable, wouldn't it? I want to talk about a phrase that we never say it very dearly before like today.

But, before we proceed to the main course, I would like tell a little story which inspires me so much in the past, about this certain person that had always been a friend of mine in my one year journey to remote area.

His name is Een, I usually call him Kang Een since he is a Sundanese, probably late twenty at the moment. He is our school caretaker is Muara Basung. This Kang Een is no ordinary caretaker, at least that's what I thought about him. He might be only a face in the crowd for most of us, even for most of our students, since he doesn't stand out too much. He usually have things done without being noticed at all. But, I found this guy to be very incredible when it comes to his job.

At one time he told me a story about his dream, that he actually does not want to be a caretaker like this, that he has a more promising dream, more fortune in it. However, fate brought him here as our beloved caretaker. Well, he is not that an angel-like person with all of his good traits. You might find him quite a delinquent but let us put that aside since he is bigger than that.

I heard a story that this Kang Een is the one that revitalize most of our school property that was quite trashed out one year prior to my arrival there. He came to my newly appointed headmaster that also has brought Kang Een there to work. He said that he want to rejuvenate the school. He then explained about the re-painting of the school, providing his plan about the color that would looks good for this place, a match with the color Muara Basung unique soil, also for the roofs. He also plan to clean and fixed the filthy bathroom which seems to be neglected for quite some times before Kang Een arrives. And then, the establishment of library and health unit which happens to be also the dream of our headmaster.

I learned that that was the beginning story of this school, the reason behind why I am always amazed by the tidiness and cleanliness of this wonderful school. It was because Kang Een's endless hardwork and visionary thinking about the ideal school environment for the student. After all of that hardwork he was still planning for the next development, that is planting grass on our school ground and flowers in front our class corridors. He already has an imagination about how the flower should be arranged and how he wanted to have a group of  bush arranged to spell our school's name.

It is just amazing. He already figured out and imagined everything about the ideal environment of this school, something that is not usually planned by a caretaker. A job that people usually underestimate and Kang Een was doing it to the fullest, or maybe beyond that. He works 24/7 with a number of holiday less than every of us. He is not only do what he is ordered but also think about what he should really do. He makes vision just like the rest of us with a more distinguished and seemingly honorable job description. But, he never said a word related to Thank God It's Friday (T.G.I.F.)

For us, the people who works five days a week, learning from a kind of person like Kang Een is a must. Why do we keep complaining about our jobs? Going to work every Monday grumbling and spend the rest of the week working while fully hoped for the Friday to come? Keep complaining about how we do not get a raise in salary? Keep on crying T.G.I.F every Friday and simultaneously curse when Monday is about to come, asking for more holidays?

Those are not sins, maybe those are not wrong at all. But, aren't we ashamed with Kang Een. He is paid lower than most of us yet he is doing his job more than he is expected to be. Kang Een has a bigger dream as he said to me back then, yet he is still doing that considered small job very well. Kang Een never had a specific holiday to say Thank God to, yet he proceed through the day as if it is nothing. I may not know how he feels inside but, at least he did not show any complaining on his situation.

We might want to say that we have achieved higher education that we are worth for more comfortable life. But, we must not forget that we are lucky enough to have parents or other persons to pay us for a higher education for that comfortable life. If we want to say that we have specialization that he don't have, then try doing those chores he is working on. I have try it and I know that for that kind of job, we also need a specialization, means that people like Kang Een should be paid more. However, the system does not allow us to paid him higher.

I don't want to be the good guy here, because I am also the one feels ashamed here. I was also the person who keeps complaining about life until I try to enjoy it more than before. My chance encounter with Kang Een has put more elation on my life, that maybe most of us missed the key of enjoying our job.

It is on "Do what you love, and love what you do" where the key lies.

In a condition, where we are unable to do what we love, it is loving what we do that surpasses all. Kang Een shows me how he try to love what he do, despite him having a bigger different dream than what he is doing currently. That is why in the end, he never tempted to complain too much about his situation.

Let us all think that we are lucky enough to have this considered better condition. Then let us try to love this situation, this job more than before until we stop complaining, as Kang Een with relatively less lucky condition was able to. Moreover, if we would say that our situation is worse than him, the try quitting your job and do his job. That is when you will understand the meaning of loving your job, because the possibility is twofold, you might find that being a caretaker is your passion then you can love the job, or that you regret complaining about your previous job and can finally love your previous job which you cannot return to now that it is too late. That is what it means to "do what you love and love what you do".

Let us learn from this person named Kang Een and forget the T.G.I.F. words, let us just do what we love and love what we do.

Smile eternally,
Wirapati

Becoming an inspiring person

Hey everyone!!

I'm now thinking about inspiring people...
I met lots of inspiring people nowadays, reading inspiring books & blogs, and get inspired.

I do really hope one day, I can be soo inspiring, can become someone who takes role in someone's life as an inspiring person.

How can some people become so inspiring?
In my opinion, a person can be inspired by someone when he heard something that he never experienced before and this thing is sooo great that makes the inspired person wants to experience it by himself.
Or when a person see this inspiring person is so great & make him wants to become like this inspiring person..
or maybe any other idea?

but anyway, one day I was so inspired by someone because of his achievements & his experience, I asked him about his life, how he made all of his experiences and he just said that it was nothing special, actually. He just grabbed the opportunities in front of him, all he needed was just determination to become a better person everyday, eagerness to learn, and an open mind.

So guys..let's become an inspiring person to the people around us..

Keep on our spirit, keep on being who we are, but let's open our mind to the challenges & the opportunities..:)

The 'Fishing' Theory of Life

I've just come home from fishing when I wrote this post. Lately, my fishing schedule became crowded and I went to fish more often with my dad. Fishing is a very relaxing acticity, and it gives you lots of time to think while waiting for the fish to bite your bait.

Well, today, when I was watching for my bait to be biten by the fish, something just poped up in my mind. And here we are, the posting that I got inspired from fishing.

When you want to fish, you just throw the bait to the pole with your fishing rod and then wait for that bait to be biten. The sign for the bait to be biten is the floating bar began to crumble or shrink. But, sometimes the crumbling or shrinking bar can be caused by the wave of water or touched by small fish or the windblow. So, we sometimes got confused whether the bait is biten or just those phenomena. That throw us into a doubt whether we should pull the rod or not.

I think, 'fishing' is one of the reflections of how we live our life, especially about 'The Chance', that only come one or several times during lifetime. Throwing the bait is the reflection of our try when we want to achieve something. Then we just wait for opportunity to come to achieve that just like when we wait for the fish to bite our bite. And when that opportunity just come, we will face a doubt whether this is a good opportunity that we've been waiting for long or just a blank opportunity or even worse a trap, just like when we face our doubt whether the fish bite our bait or not.

Taking a risk to pull the rod is just like when we are taking a risk to take an opportunity. If it's not a fish, then we will lose our bait supply. Just like when if it's just a blank opportunity, we will lose our resources that we used to take that opportunity. And just like the limited bait supply, our resources is also limited. When it ran off, then we couldn't fish anymore until we have another supply.

Even if it is a real opportunity, we could just failed in attempt to achieve our dream. In fishing, even if you got the fish on hook, if pull the fish in a wrong way, the fish can get away from our hook. Just like taking opportunity, if do it wrong, the opportunity could just slipped from your hand.

And when we failed to catch a fish, we have to do it over from the beginning, placing the bait, throw it and wait again, just like when we failed, back to the beginning.

Also, just like in real life, we have to use the time efficiently. WHile wait for the fish, we could prepare for the next throw, or maybe socialized with other or anything, just to make sure our time is not wasted in vain.

See? Our life is just like 'Fishing'. We need to be focus when we want toget a fish just like in reaching our goal, we need to be focus. We have to trust our heart whether to pull the rod or not, just like we have to trust our heart when we face an opportunity.

The point of this post is, that in your life, you have to try to open your opportunity (throwing the bait), focus on your doing (waiting for the fish with concentration), see the chance (see the floating bar shrinking), make a choice (pull or not), trust your heart (just like when you choose to pull it or not), do it in correct ways (when you struggle to pull the fish) and try again when you failed as long as you still can do it (throw again the bait if you still have bait supply).

Fishing is just one reflection of life. There are still another reflections of life. Well, what I want to say is, we can learn anything about life with every activity in our life, even a nature activity. So, don't forget to look closely on everything that happened around us, and learn everything from that.

Have no worries to learn,

The Pyramid Of Life

I always think about my life. What is my life for? What is the meaning of this life? Why does life needs to be that short? What should I do in this short time? What is my goal to make this life meaningful?

It is always bothering me. There are about six billion of people in this world (I don't know for sure). I am just one between those six billion people. Do they all know me? Actually, I believe almost all of them don't know me. It feels like I am a nobody in this world. Just live for years for nothing. I don't even be called existed.

Well, that is the position of most of us. We live, we are actually live, but nobody know we live. Feels empty, doesn't it?

People in that condition is the people in the first Stage of Life. What is the stage of life? It is the current condition of your life reflecting your existency in this world, divided into three different stages. Well, literally, stage of life does not have that meaning. But the meaning my stage of life is that.

The first stage is NOBODY. They actually live in this world. But, not that many know of them. When they someday die, sooner or later, people will fully forget about their past existency. Most of people in this world start at this stage, live at this stage and die at this stage. They do not have any achievement. They failed on their attempt to reach their dreams. Or they choose to become Nobody, saying that they are incapable. They are probably unknown by the world. That's why I call them "The person that never was". They existed but nobody knows.

The second stage is EXISTENCY. People at this stage could prove his existency to the world. But only during lifetime. When they die, sooner or later, people will forget about them. They will fade away as the flow of time. BUt, at least, their existency will remain as long as those people who have seen their existency live and the number of people that have seen the existency is a lot more that those at the first stage. So, we can conclude that at least the existency of people at this stage could remain longer than those of the first stage. Only few of us could achieve this stage. Coz it's not easy to achieve this stage. We have to do something very big. Something that could be seen by others. What we need to achieve this stage is "The Proof of Existence".

The last stage in life, the final one, iss ETERNITY. People in this stage will never be forgotten by every single person in this world. They may be dead. But, their memories will never fade away. Only a very little, probably one in several years, that could achieve this. Because, achieving it might be impossible, but actually possible. They were granted the Eternity because they dare to face the inpossible. It needs hard work and dedication to achieve this stage. To achieve this stage, we have to do something very big, and significant enough to affect the life of almost all of sentient beings in present and the future.

Let us take example for the last stage. Isaac Newton, though his theorem of mechanics was critisized by Albert Einstein with the book of "Forgive Me, Newton", but his name remains existed until present with all of those development of technology that no longer use the simple theorem of Newton, but with signficant modification. His theorem is the root of all mechanics modern theorems. Moreover, we live with his simple theorem in our daily life. People will never forget about him since he has done something that change the life of all people in this world. People like Thomas Alpha Edison, Albert Einstein, Adam Smith, Franklin D. Roosevelt, etc are also people that have reach this stage.

Why would I call it eternity? Because, even when they die, people will never forget about them. They may be dead but they memories will remain in eternity. There is no absolute eternity in this world. This eternity is the only eternity that we can possibly achieve. The people at this stage are called "The Fadeless Memories".

Why do I call it 'The pyramid of Life'? Let see! Almost all of the people in this world live as the NOBODY, while few could achieve EXISTENCY and very little have step their feet on ETERNITY. The combination this stage creates a pyramid, where Nobody lies as the bottom, indicating that all people start at this stage, where Existency as the middle stage, and eternity lies on the top of the pyramid with little size indicating it is the stage where least people could achieve. That is the PYRAMID OF LIFE.

"People are grouped into three stages in their life. Most of them could only become 'Nobody', whom people could not prove that they ever existed. Few of them could achieve the 'Existency', who will eventually forgotten by time. And very little, probably only one in years, could find his 'Eternity', whose memories will never fade 'til the end of time. That is the Pyramid of Life"
-The Philosopher that Never Was-

It is our desicions whether we could achieve the eternity or stopped at the bottom stage. Do we want to become only a Nobody? I believe that everybody wants to achieve at least the Existency. Because, everybody wants to proof their existency. But, most people who could achieve the existency stopped at this stage. The do not want to continue because they think the eternity is impossible to achieve.

So, everything depends on our own judgement. The stage we are at now is the stage that we wanted to be. Whether we want to move forward is our desicions to make. Think about it, guys.. Do you want to stop being nobody? Or you want to live as it is let the life decide what you will become? It's your choice.
