This is a very sensitive topic, so I warn you this is maybe offended posting, but I would love to know your oppinion.

We all know in almost any religion, suiciding is a sin. It's against God's will, that's what they used to say. But I come up with ideas yesterday. I personally belive in fate, destiny, or whatsoever. And the concept of destiny is, almost everything happened in your life is already written before you born. Well some can be change, and some other can't. Gender, spouse, and so about death. It's about when, where and how will you be dead.

Based on this hypothesis, there are two controversial statement that can be made. First is, if we do believe death is one of destiny then the suiciding that is actually succeded (end up with death), is God's will. The arguments that can support this statement is, nothing that can be made or happened without God's approval. So if someone wants to suicide and end with dead, then it's the way destiny wants.

The second is, if we refuse to make an excuse for the suiciding sin (back with the argument of 'against God's will'), we actually admit "human superiority" on God. We admit that suicide (the success one) is not only a mistake made by human, but also an error made by God. That means that although we can't postpone the time of our death, we actually can put forward the time of our death (by suiciding). In other word, we can interfere our own destiny in certain level, even the most important one.

I know this sounds so agnostic. But the reason why i post this is, I want an answer. And your oppinion, of course.

sinetron cost

hi,guys..

i'm just thinking about simple thing, our original indonesian tv show; or we can say sinetron.

Maybe most of you are agree with me that sinetron is all hyperobolic. The story is all about 1 people tortured by other. Actually I forget when the last sinetron I followed. I think when I'm still in elementary school. But since that time until now, the story is just around that circles. Some of it are good in the early episodes, but when it continued, the story becomes boring and hyperbolic (remember tersanjung 7??). We all know that sinetron is also uneducate, specially for children. The point is, I really can't enjoy any sinetron, no offense for you who like it.hehe!

But, yesterday I saw gossip (third best show after jalan2 and maknyus2an) about young actress that cought when she was having drugs party. It's not her behaviour that I aware, but the gossip told me she gets about Rp.130million per episode. whaaat?? always that high for every artist? Then I found in google that acting yield are between Rp.500.000 - Rp.300.000.000 (Kompas,Juli 2006!). So I conclude that 'sinetron world' is using so much money. I don't want to approximate and calculate how much the cost for 1 sinetron or for all sinetron that showed, i know it must be so high. You can compare with other business (with more useful output for society).

Okay, If sinetron always cost very high, why they can't make a better story???? Logically, you have to spent Rp.130 million for every artist and story maker, so you must want they act very well, also the story. But, the fact is not like that..Maybe because the rating's high, they keep making such a typical story. But i don't think it's because many people like that, we just don't have preference. All the show are same, mau ga mau ya ditonton.

Director, sinetron maker, producer, please make more qualify and educate sinteron, so you don't lose out your money for NOTHING..

The Golden Ways

Long time no see!

One day, I watched Metro TV and found out a very interesting show. It was about Mario Teguh and his book named The Golden Ways. Wow! I really found it very interesting and moreover inspiring,

I don't know what the book explained but at least, from the conversation, I think it was about friendship (they sang 'You've Got A Friend' there). What I've learn there is that we should not create enemies. Let our enemies become our friends by let them win.

Let them win? How could? Then we lost? No, what Mario Teguh said is that we have to become a winner by letting our opponent won. Sure it is hard to do, but, it is a very good thinking. Do we really become a loser when we lost? No, we bocome the real winner when we know we can win for sure, yet we let our opponent to win.

There's another interesting one. He said that to befriend we have to give something to someone. How can we give something we have nothing at all? And he said, "We can give someone without loving him/her, but we cannot love someone without giving him/her. When we say give, it means give everything. Give him/her yourself, your whole heart and feelings, tell him/her that you will always be there, for him/her." Nicely done, eh? To love means to give. Yeah, I agree!

So, people. There are many ways to befriend with others even your enemy. The Golden Ways is just one thing. You can create your own way. At least, you should keep this in mind.

Always be a winner, even when you lose!

Smile Eternally,
Wirapati

Becoming an inspiring person

Hey everyone!!

I'm now thinking about inspiring people...
I met lots of inspiring people nowadays, reading inspiring books & blogs, and get inspired.

I do really hope one day, I can be soo inspiring, can become someone who takes role in someone's life as an inspiring person.

How can some people become so inspiring?
In my opinion, a person can be inspired by someone when he heard something that he never experienced before and this thing is sooo great that makes the inspired person wants to experience it by himself.
Or when a person see this inspiring person is so great & make him wants to become like this inspiring person..
or maybe any other idea?

but anyway, one day I was so inspired by someone because of his achievements & his experience, I asked him about his life, how he made all of his experiences and he just said that it was nothing special, actually. He just grabbed the opportunities in front of him, all he needed was just determination to become a better person everyday, eagerness to learn, and an open mind.

So guys..let's become an inspiring person to the people around us..

Keep on our spirit, keep on being who we are, but let's open our mind to the challenges & the />

I really apreciate Royben, who keep posting good writings on this blog. And after idle for months, I want to try write something that I was thinking this morning.

Begin with simple question. A loverbird often ask about this:

"Why me? Why do you love me?"

A question begin with 'why' usually answered with 'because..' or a reason. Some might answer it, "because you seems love me that much," or "because you are kind, caring, funny, etc..'

me?

I'd rather answer. "you know what? I don't think I need a reason to love you."

hahaha.. you might find it silly. But I think if I give reason WHY I love someone, it means I love that person conditionally. If, for example, I love someone because that person cares about me. Then someday he doesn't care again, should I stop loving him?

The same thing if you say this statement.

"the reason why I change myself is because of you."

I personally don't think changing myself for someone else is a good idea. It gives a condition to your changes. If the person is gone, would you still maintain the changes? well.. i'm not crazy about changes. i love my comfort zone. i do open myself for critics.but changing myself for someone else for me is.. ridiculuos.

So at least i learn one point here. if you give reason for something, for some situations and circumstances, you also give condition. and i really don't need a reason to make me a better person.

so yes, the reason i change myself definitely NOT because of you :)

1000 Wishes with 1000 Pains

Human is a creature of dreams. That's what I think of. Every single humman lives with the desire to fulfill what he dreams of at least before he dies.

There are some with big dreams, while there are some with just a normal dreams of lives a normal life. At least, there are no human with no dreams of wishes.

But really, be careful with everything that you wish for. Cuz, every realization of wishes will generate side effects.

I got this idea from the lyrics of DAUGHTRY band song "HOME". Here's the lyrics:
Be careful what you wish for, cuz you just might get it all, you just might get it all, then some you don't want.
Well, that's that.

It's been long time since i'd thought about that. And not for a long time ago, I found my logic answer.

We really have to be careful with what we wish for. Cuz, just like the Daughtry said, you might get it all, and together with some that you don't want.

Let's make it like this. You dream of being a very richman, living with lots of money and women. You can get everything with all of your money. You got what you dream of right? But, at the same time, you get something that you might don't want. It's LEISURE TIME. Since you have lots of assets, you have to maintain all of your assets and it will take your leisure time to work. You will lost freedom. Then, since you have lots of women as you wife, you have to divide your time that have been decreased by works. And at the last, since you have lots of money, your children might think that they can do everything and it can be bad, like having narcotics or something.

You have a wonderful life and yet you generate a seed of messy life.

So, always be careful with what you wish for. Always think of the consequences and don't bother to think about it from now. Before it's too late. Since A Thousand of Wishes Might Gives You A Thousand of Pains.

Smile Eternally,
Wirapati...

social discrepancy

lately, I keep my mind with all people around me..people I met in street especially..maybe it's because I study economics, I care about them..I think about them..it's an usual picture of a capital city..very rich people among a lot of the poor..I'm thinking about people who work as salesman in the street..They sell newspaper, magz, map, even big balloon..can u imagine? who's gonna buy it?! nobody! maybe newspaper will easier to sold, but balloon or some ridiculous toys for children in the middle of heavy traffic? I don't think somebody would buy that..so? where their (salesman) income comes from?? they can't sell anything? or maybe they can sell one or two pieces, but ofcourse it won't enough to feed their family..I always wonder how much they earn everyday..maybe i should take small research for this..How can some people are like live in heaven of money and others doesn't have any money to eat? So unfair for me..

anyway, I found something interesting last month..Me and my mom were on the way home..in traffic light,we saw a family in a motorcycle..I was thinking about their wealth..how much the parents earn? why they have to use motorcycle for 4 people? what can i do to solve this proverty? But, in my mom's point of view, "hey, the children's hair is stiff and brown..it must because they don't have enough nutrition.." this is from a doctor's thought..
huehehe..we think differently depends on what we learn..

This is our lovely country..now we have to face it, but later (also from now) we should beat this problem..Like roy said, generation are better and better..Yes we can solve any problem on the road to perfect generation..

The R.P.G.

Are asking me what does the title means?

No way! I'm not gonna answer it that easily!

The R.P.G. stands for The Road to Perfect Generation!

This is actually another positive thinking philosophy of mine. Hmm.. Where should I start?

Okay. One day I read something really interesting, a quotations. It said."The next generation will always surpass the previous one, that's one of the never-ending cycle in life". I've got something in my mind when I read that.

Whenever we, as the next generation, surpass the previous one, we eill become a better generation. Just like when old generation said that velocity is absolute, Albert Einstein as next generations of mechanics comes up with a revolution that said that velocity is absolutely relative, except the velocity of light.

This world expands when the generation expands.

Let us make this like this. The next generation surpasses the previous, and the next next generation surpasses the next, and the next next next generation surpasses the next next, and so on. With the flow of time, we will become better and better. And in time approaching the unlimited, we wil create a TRULY PERFECT GENERATION. That is the R.P.G.

So, as the next generation, let us surpass the previous one. Prof. Dorodjatun once said to me,"Look forward, don't you preoccupied by the spion mirror, you will never move forward".

Let the old generations end their era. This is our time. Use what they've done as lessons and surpass them by correcting what've been wrong in their era.

In smaller scale, try to surpass your own father, and one day you will have a perfect grand grand grand............grand children.

Have that spirit. One day our generation will rule the population. Do not wait for the world to change, but change the world!

Surpass them, the old generation. Our era is coming!
Smile eternally,
Wirapati..

Hmmm..

So glad the mid exam has finished!!!! But, at least I believe in this one, so that I can think positively every time.

I believe that we human live with something called CAPACITY. Our capacity reflects our ability, skill, knowledge, intelligence and everything that develop your potentials. It was said that we, human beings, could only use 1% of our capacity.

I believe it's true.

Then one day, I think it's last night, I come up with a wonder. If our present ability is only 1% of our capacity, how tremendous our true ability would be when we reach our maximum capacity? Would it be 100 times powerful or smarter or anything better? If it's only 100 times better (since 100% is equal to 1% times 100), then, someone with, no offense, such a low physical state could only get stronger by 100 times that it does not guarantee him that he will be stronger than someone that could only use 1% of his ability. How about if the gap is too far?

About two hours ago, while I was driving. I watch cars passing by at the highway. The cars looked like moving slowly. And I remember something, The Law of Mechanics said that the velocity of a moving object is relative to the velocity of other object. That's what Einstein said in his book 'Forgive Me, Newton'.

Talking about Einstein, I come up with another pop up in mind. Einstein is once faced mystery, if we move in the speed of light while facing a mirror that move in the same speed, will we see our reflection there? The answer is YES. Why's that? Aren't we move in the speed of light that the reflection of our body is mocing in the same speed of us (since reflection is lights-based object), so our reflection would never reach the mirror? That's EINSTEIN RELATIVITY THEOREM. Every moving object have relative velocity to other object, except one thing... THE SPEED OF LIGHT. No matter how fast you move, the speed of light will stay in same value of 3.10^8 m/s, even though we move with the speed of light.

Then I come up with one idea. It answers my wonder about how far can we grow our ability to approach our capacity. The answer is almost unlimited. I believe that no matter how strong we grow, how smart we become, our used capacity will stay at the same percentage of 1%. This value of capacity is absolute, just like the speed of light.

So, there is no limit for us to grow up, since no matter how much we grow, we are still using the same percentage of capacity.

Then, how can in the reality, someone can no longer be stronger, like you cannot run faster than your actual macimum speed now? It is because you believe so. You believe that you are unable. You believe that this is your maximum capacity. Your thoughts limits yourself. You create a wall for yourself.

I know that it is ridiculous. That someone like me could run faster than any olympic runner? I believe I can. As long as I believe that, and I train myself with a proper training to surpass my limit. Aren't there are a story that there will be no one that can run through the range of 1 miles under 4 minutes? Half a century ago, someone challenge the impossible thing, trying to run under 4 minutes. Everybody's laughing at him. But, what is the fact? He could beat the impossible. That is because he believes that it can be done, and train hard to accomplish it. Nowadays, people could run faster than that.

This is the almighty of the God, creating a creature like us, the human beings. What makes we more special than any other creature? It is that we could improve ourself infinitely, and our improvements will never ends, as long as we believe we can still improve and try to realize that. In the age of stone, the pre-historic, trying to fly is impossible, and now, we have aeroplanes that could allow us to travel the wide blue sky.

The improvement is not just physically, it can be mentally, spiritually, emotionally, even the improvement of intelligence. It is all only 1% of our macimum capacity and will always be that no matter how much we improve. I call my thesis as...

The Law of Absolute Capacity

I know it sounds ridiculous. You may not believe it. But, at least I believe that and I live with that beliefs. I just want to share a thought that you must not give up. When you say that your brain is already at its limit and you will never improve no matter how hard you study, you are just reasoning to yourself that you do not want to study, you do not want to try harder, thus you create your own limits.

Even though our limit is unlimited, do not ever forget that you still have to SHARPEN THE SAW, by resting to increase or recover your productivity. You know that cutting timber with dull saw will take your time a lot. So, why don't you rest for a while and sharpen your saw and then continue your works with a sharp saw to make your work easier.

One last sentence, NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE IMPROVE OURSELVES, THE CAPACITY THAT WE ACHIEVE IS AN ABSOLUTE 1% SO THAT WE CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE OURSELVES UNLIMITEDLY.

THAT IS THE LAW OF ABSOLUTE CAPACITY...

Are you afraid to break your limit?
No Hard Feelings, No Offense,
Wirapati..

The Domino Path

Good day people,

well it's not a new subject in this blog after all. But since it was mentioned in two welcoming posts (ulay and shirin) and also in roy's comment (he can not make any posts this months, he exceeded his target :P), so I try to make it in one new post. It's hard for me to make it in one simple and clean post. Even for introductory, I needed 15 minutes to decide what story I have to use as background story. But anyway, here we go..

Few days ago, I almost got crushed by train because I passed the railway few seconds before it passed through. Everyone around the railway shouted at me, yelling I'm stupid, that I might get killed because my reckless action. On my way to the ticket queue, I was thinking, "What if I arrived just one second later than I should be? Will I still alive?"

What if I woke up late just few second? Got bath late? Or even worse, what if my high heels stucked in railroad? Those all things seem insignificant, but in my case, maybe I never go home in one piece again.

So it all starts from 'what if'. Like ulay or shirin said, what if someday we wake up and you have different name? Most likely you will have different life. Why it could happen? You know about fact that a butterfly can make typhoon? I don't know about so-called butterfly effect, chaos theory, or initial point. But I figure it in my own shallow thoughts.

I imagine that every single thing, even the smallest one, in this world is represented by domino. So there are billions of dominoes in my imagination, with certain size. Each of them stands in different position, in certain distance, making millions of complex route with even more branches. Now, say if one domino is being pushed by our finger, soon all the dominoes standing after it will fall too. I lend Roy's word, the single domino represents initial point. And the small force from finger is the trigger action, small motion that can cause many dominoes fall.

How many and which dominoes will fall depends on whose finger we use (maybe my small finger will cause less damage than Roy's finger), the force of finger (whether it's just small touch or a full-force), position of each dominoes, which part of initial domino that being pushed (we push the top or the bottom of the domino), and other factors.

That's how our world works. maybe the same problems, the same person, but with different time or action will result different ending. And once we "push" the initial point (make action), we can not reverse the effect of our action. Even if we want to fix the fallen dominoes, we can not arrange all of them exactly like before, no matter how hard we try.

There are some points i would like to emphasize. This theory againsts any statement sounds like this, "aww.. cmon. Who am I? The world will not change just because i do blablabla.." or "why should I do that? It will not change anything.." because the truth is, yourself represents one domino, which can be an initial point anytime and make big changes.

And this theory also agree with Roy, that we shouldn't regret our past actions. Because no matter how big we regret it, nothing will happen. Nothing will change. And there's nothing we could do to reverse it. What we can do is learning from our mistakes. And trust me, every single dominoes that fall has its own meaning. Everything happens in our life has its own reason.

Ugh, I start feeling head ache, just think about this further. The point is, start thinking every little thing you do. Who knows? I suddenly thought that if I wasn’t Shirin, what would I be? I remember that it was the first time I hardly think about life..
And until now, I still keep thinking about it when I’m not doing anything.

Sometimes, I also think that one event can cause other events to occur.
So, if I was not accepted in FEUI, would this blog be made? :D

Any of you can help me to find the answers?

By the way, I’ve just got some good quotes and I’ll share it to you:
There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him it is right....(Martin Luther)
You have enemies? Let say it is a lake with a certain depth. When a lake is so shallow, you can see the bottom of the lake almost clearly. When a lake is so deep, all you can see is the darkness of the bottom. But, you cannot see the bottom of the lake itself.

Now throw a lake with a stone. The more shallow the lake, the wave will remain vibrating longer. Throwing a bigger stone to the lake will also create a longlasting wave. Also, the water will be easily crumbled when the water be thrown by a stone if the depth is so shallow.

What does it means?

Water depth is an analogy of your knowledge. The little you know, and other people could see through the very bottom of your thinking, just like when you see the bottom of the shallow lake. The more you know, and other people will find it hard to see through your thinking, just like when you see the bottom of a deep lake. This 'hard to see through thinking' does not have the meaning of cannot be understood. It is all about predictable or unpredictable thinking. People with depth will become an unpredictable person. They can come up with a very special idea that no one have ever predict it or expect it. While a very shallow person will have an ordinary thinking that everybody could predict, so everybody can prepare for the counter attack.

The more shallow the lake, the longer the wave will remains vibrating. It means that when you strike a shallow person with intelligence (stone is the analogy of intelligence), they will receive a great disadvantage (wave is hte analogy of damage) and the disadvantage will remain longer, vice versa. The greater he intelligence you had the greater the disadvantage you can inflict to the person.

The depth represents the KNOWLEDGE you have. The stone represents the INTELLIGENCE you have. The more knowledge you have, the intelligence your opponent need to take you on. Knowledge is the representative of defense while intelligence is the representative of attack. To hold of your opponents argument when you are in a some kind of debate, you have to use your knowledge to break the logic that your opponent use to strike you. To strike your opponent, you have to use your intelligence to seek his weaknesses on his arguments. Having both of them is necessary.

That is the analogy of 'The Depth and The Stone'..

The Theory of Love (SR and LR Case)

Dear humanity around the world.

As an opening, I want to share my cynic-est thought about how finding a girl/boyfriend. You know what is it? Yes, to me, there is a short run trade-offs between the qualities of face (handsomeness or beauty-ness) of a people, with the how long her/his love relationship will he/she kept.

Now here’s the logic. A person with a good looking face will usually disloyal to his/her relationship. Why? Assume that he or she knows that he or she has a good looking face, this kind of people will have nothing to lose if they failed his/her relationship. Why, they’ll easy to get a new one. Another effect is they have a high bargaining power if they have a conflict with their couple.

Otherwise, people with a not-good looking face will usually more loyal to his/her relationship. Yes you know why, they are realize that looking for people that loves him/her is really hard, with an assumption that he or she know that he or she has a not-good looking face, and feel very depressed finding his/her lover. They’ll uneasy to get a new one. And of course, they’ll have a low bargaining power.

Are you belief in that? It’s up to you. Maybe it’ll help you to find your perfect girl/boyfriend.

But that is not the main idea ladies and gentleman, that is only my shallow thought with a lot of assumption. And... it is short run. When the relationship turns to long run, we can decrease the assumption, because the factor that support the relationship is increase, such as; commitment, trust, willingness to sacrifice, etc. Couples will start to learn how precious their relationship is in long run. Why, because they start to use HEART not ego.

To explain this, I will use that two shallow theorem up there. A person with good looking, will start to realize that their good looking face will be useless to his/her relationship, unless they use their heart to feel this relationship precious. They will decrease his bargaining power and start to give it to their pair.

A person with not-good looking will have their confidence increase, because their pair has shown a true meaning of love, they not just love by looking on the face, but the personality. So their bargaining power will increase though.

If you agree with the explanation above, you will agree with this conclusion.

“THE LONG RUN RELATIONSHIP WILL MAKE ALL EQUALIZE”

So guys, make your relationship a long run one. When is it? It’s like the Theory of Production. Short run production is when we just only increase one factor of production and let the others same. And productions enter the long run when we increase more than one factor of production to increase output. It takes same with this SR and LR Theory of Love. The assumption of this theory is all people is approach the one who they love for the reason of his or her face quality (but in real world, a lot of people act like this right?). When you just only enter the Quality of Face as your Factor of Love and let your COMMITMENT, TRUST, WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE, etc. stay the same, you are having an Short Run Relationship. This relationship tends to be uneverlasting and you won’t get anything from it. But when you increase another Factor of Love, COMMITMENT, TRUST, and WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE, you will make the relationship is possible to be everlasting and you’ll learn a lot from this relationship.

So, you knew the benefits of Long Run Relationship, why you won’t try? Like AIESEC said, “it’s up to you!”

The frog jumping

One of my friend ever told me that “ if you put frog on the box with tall 7cm for 6 months, the frog just can jump up to 7cm even when we put it on the outside of the box for its whole life”.
The simulation maybe like this : when the frog in the 7cm tall of box for 6 months, it usual for jumping just up to 7cm otherwise the frog can jump more than 7cm, and if we let it go outside the box, on the pond it just can jump up to 7cm like before, shorter than other frogs can do naturally, because it has been limited in jumping.

How about if it isn’t a frog but human, one person, we can called her as X. X always has her own fear : I am not good in English, I am not beautiful, I am not a good speaker, I can’t do debate, I can’t write some writings interestingly, I am not smart enough and bla..blaa..bla.. Are those things right? Maybe not, if she just thinking and talking about that without try to find the real evidence of that, because those are just “the limits” that she creates for herself, she makes herself feel she is nothing and can’t do everything. So when there are lot of opportunities around her, she never brave to try, she always meet the tall wall that prevents her take those, like the frog when big world is on its face it always thinking that it is on the 7cm box not on the pond where it can jump as high as it want. Box not only blocks its ability for jumping but also its mind for thingking it can jump higher than that.

She or you never know for exactly how high is your real limit until you try for jumping, but not jumping in the box but at the pond. You never know you can swim until you try to do it. Opportunities always there, what you have to do is take it, be brave to try, and never felt afraid to lose. The loser is not somebody who lose the game, but somebody who leave the game before running to the field.

The key is “challenge your self”, never create limits to you. Just keep trying to take all opportunities around you, whether the result is perfect or not is not the main problem because we just a human being, the most important is you know for exactly how high your limit after you try for jumping as high as you can do best, not only measure it on your mind with your own fear because it isn’t your real limit that’s your box. Proof that You are the frog on the pond not the frog in the 7cm box !

You, God, and the Concept of Unity

Have you ever think about God, who is He, where is He, what is He, or even how can I meet Him? Well, this weekend I went to a course held by The Beshara School. It is some kind of a spiritual course that helps you knows more about who you really are and what is the essential of being a human. Beshara itself means a good news. And i am going to tell you about what i have heard. I do not expect you to believe in what I am going to say, but it is better to think more deeply about it.

We often heard that God is nearer to us than ourself, than our soul, and than our breath. So where is He exactly? Well, there is a thought that describe God. It says, "God is me, I am no other than Him, but I am not him." This sentence means that God is in yourself, ourself. Because you are the manifestation of the existence of the truth, while the truth means God. I will give you an example. If you have a flower in front of the mirror, the flower itself would be the Reality (God). And the image of flower in the mirror is you, or us (the servants). You see that there is two individual, the real flower and the image of flower. The flower can say that it is the flower. But the one in the mirror can't say that it is the flower because it is just an image of the real flower. So actually there is only one individual which is the real flower.

I will give you another example. When you see a white light goes into a prism, it would divided to some colors. In this example, the white light is the Reality and the colors are the Immanence. The white light is the source of the colors and the colors have the characteristics of the white light. But it does not have all characteristic of white light. Every color is unique. They do not same one and another. The red is red and it is impossible for red to be yellow, green, blue, and of course white. So, we can say that each person is an extension of the being in the relative world, dressed up in dimensions of space and time.

According to Ibn 'Arabi there is only Reality in existence. This Reality we view from two different angles, which we call it haqq (the Real) when we regad it as the Essence of all phenomena and khalq (the Immanence) when we regard it as the manifested phenomena of that Essence. Haqq and khalq, Reality and Appearance, the One and the Many, are only two subjective aspects of One Reality: it is a real unity but an empirical diversity. The Reality is God. "If you regard Him trough Him", Ibn 'Arabi says, " then He regard Himself trough Himself, which is the state of unity; but if you regard Him through yourself then the unity is vanishes."

The One is everywhere as an Essence, and nowhere as the Universal Essence which is above and beyond all 'where' and 'how'. "Unity has no other meaning than two (or more) things being actually identical, but conceptually distinguishable the one from the other; so in one sense the one is the other; in another is not." "Multiplicity is due to different points of view, not to an actual division in the One Essence." So, basically every person is different but we came from the same source, the One. And what seems to multiply the One is the ahkam (predications) which we predicate of external object - the fact that we bring them under categories of color, size, shape and temporal and spatial relations, etc. There is a complete reciprocity between haqq and khalq as understood by Ibn 'Arabi, and complete mutual dependence. Like two logical correlatives, neither has any meaning without other. For example, there are no one who will be called as Lord if there were no servants.

There is God side or God spot in every single us. Everyone has the same possibilities to be able find God inside them. There is a hadist, the more you know yourself, the more you know your God. And multiplicity is not what really happens among human being. It is us who make it looks like different by predicating the external object. Actually there is nothing that makes another person is better to another. It is according to what their contains of. So, what kind of person do you want to be? What color do you want to be? Because the color of the water depends on what it contains.

I am not really sure that what i have told you is clear enough. For more information, just click www.beshara.org. I am also not really clear with what I have heard. But think it more deeply will make you peaceful. Thinking about it will make you a student of School of life. We will always learn from life. I don't want to said that this is true or false. But at least, this one happens to me.

The phrase is not quite true in reality though. Not all the children think their father as their goal. But at least, father is still the figure of ambition for children, while mother is the figure of love.

I grow up under my father's shadow. I have a goal that to surpass the world, first I have to surpass my father. I am always chasing him. I can only see his back. He is still far away. I want to say something to him. But, I think my voice won't reach him since I still far behind.

But, I believe, one day I will surpass him. So, I could see his face, look him straight at his eyes and say, "Do I make you proud?".

He is my ambition. Until I fulfill that ambition, I won't say those words before i could surpass him.

Right now, I am looking at my father's back, but one day I will look him the face with proud.

Now guyz, what's your ambition? No. In fact, I'm a bit sceptical with this so-called love. But people, I want to share this very interesting thought.

You know camera right? I doesn't matter whether your camera is SLR or pocket one, it must have one button that you must push when you want to take some pictures, called shutter release button. This probably one of the most important part from camera. This button will open the case between lens and roll film. After the case opened, lights coming from lens will get through body of camera to film, then the film will 'record' the picture. The same case for digital camera, with different media. But as I told before, every camera has shutter release button.

In camera pocket, the shutter speed (how long the case will open and shut itself) and diagfragma (how big the lens will open) are already costumized for instant reason. But in SLR, we can decide the shutter speed and diagfragma. We can open the shutter release button for 1/2000 second, or even hold the shutter release button as long as we want (called bulb).

Shutter speed and diagfragma are used to manage the quantity of light coming through film, so the picture will be nice, not too dark or not too bright. Well, if you have difficulties in understanding how to use camera, just refer it to how your eyes work. Imagine that the pupil is lens, and your retina is the film. The pupil will be getting bigger or smaller, adjust the amount of lights. It will bigger in dark place, so our eyes will receive more light. And in other side, will be smaller in bright place. Imagine that shutter speed is how fast we shut our eyes. The longer we open our eyes, the more light we received, the more movement we will get.

Ehm, if you are interested more in how it works, you can ask me, off the record. Back to the topic please.

Anyway, the mechanic way of camera is not only same as eye, in my opinion. But it also resembles the work of our heart. The way we feel something or how much we feel it depends on how much we open our heart, same as shutter release button. Are we going to set our shutter speed in 1/4000 to feel love, affection, joyful? Or bulbing in 3 hours for grudge, envy, despair?

No matter how much the feeling that other people give to us, it depends to ourself whether we feel it as much as they feel or less, or even more. The empathetic person, will much probably bulbs their heart to feel more. But an apathetic person like me, maybe just open the heart for 1/500 second.

It also depends of how sensitive a person to feel something. And how big they open their heart. But basically, it depends on the person itself.

Oh yes, before i forgot. My suggestion, doesn't matter how big we open it. we have to open our heart in healthy portion. why I say it 'healthy'? it's very important. Same as film, if it received too small mount of lights, it will appear darker, called under exposure. In contrary, if a film receive too much lights the picture will appear brighter than the real object. It won't give true image of the object, called over exposure. or even worse, it will burn the film.

Then if you open your heart too small and too fast, you will receive a dark image. You won't get the real fact. But if you open it too much, it will burn your 'film', it will kill you slowly. and it's very unhealthy.

So people, how much do you open your heart for this world?

purpose of life

trapped in this long holiday without any meaningful activity makes me do something i called bullboing. hehe. hey you all friendster user, i bet you know the section bulletin board, which sometimes contains announcement, invitation, etc. but most of those bulletins, filled with unimportant surveys. haha.

this afternoon, i filled out a bullbo. and there's a question,
'when was the last time you feel useful?'

and i answered that question like this:
'tonight. because i feel useful when i can make my beloved ones smile.'

hw. and that's my purpose of life. i want to make my beloved ones happy. i would do anything to put a smile upon their faces.

what about you? what is your purpose of life? =)

The 'Fishing' Theory of Life

I've just come home from fishing when I wrote this post. Lately, my fishing schedule became crowded and I went to fish more often with my dad. Fishing is a very relaxing acticity, and it gives you lots of time to think while waiting for the fish to bite your bait.

Well, today, when I was watching for my bait to be biten by the fish, something just poped up in my mind. And here we are, the posting that I got inspired from fishing.

When you want to fish, you just throw the bait to the pole with your fishing rod and then wait for that bait to be biten. The sign for the bait to be biten is the floating bar began to crumble or shrink. But, sometimes the crumbling or shrinking bar can be caused by the wave of water or touched by small fish or the windblow. So, we sometimes got confused whether the bait is biten or just those phenomena. That throw us into a doubt whether we should pull the rod or not.

I think, 'fishing' is one of the reflections of how we live our life, especially about 'The Chance', that only come one or several times during lifetime. Throwing the bait is the reflection of our try when we want to achieve something. Then we just wait for opportunity to come to achieve that just like when we wait for the fish to bite our bite. And when that opportunity just come, we will face a doubt whether this is a good opportunity that we've been waiting for long or just a blank opportunity or even worse a trap, just like when we face our doubt whether the fish bite our bait or not.

Taking a risk to pull the rod is just like when we are taking a risk to take an opportunity. If it's not a fish, then we will lose our bait supply. Just like when if it's just a blank opportunity, we will lose our resources that we used to take that opportunity. And just like the limited bait supply, our resources is also limited. When it ran off, then we couldn't fish anymore until we have another supply.

Even if it is a real opportunity, we could just failed in attempt to achieve our dream. In fishing, even if you got the fish on hook, if pull the fish in a wrong way, the fish can get away from our hook. Just like taking opportunity, if do it wrong, the opportunity could just slipped from your hand.

And when we failed to catch a fish, we have to do it over from the beginning, placing the bait, throw it and wait again, just like when we failed, back to the beginning.

Also, just like in real life, we have to use the time efficiently. WHile wait for the fish, we could prepare for the next throw, or maybe socialized with other or anything, just to make sure our time is not wasted in vain.

See? Our life is just like 'Fishing'. We need to be focus when we want toget a fish just like in reaching our goal, we need to be focus. We have to trust our heart whether to pull the rod or not, just like we have to trust our heart when we face an opportunity.

The point of this post is, that in your life, you have to try to open your opportunity (throwing the bait), focus on your doing (waiting for the fish with concentration), see the chance (see the floating bar shrinking), make a choice (pull or not), trust your heart (just like when you choose to pull it or not), do it in correct ways (when you struggle to pull the fish) and try again when you failed as long as you still can do it (throw again the bait if you still have bait supply).

Fishing is just one reflection of life. There are still another reflections of life. Well, what I want to say is, we can learn anything about life with every activity in our life, even a nature activity. Dictionary.com said that envy in noun is a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc.

It’s human for somebody (as a human) want to have, possess, or become someone else that better-off than him/her. In Economics, we study Utility Curve, that told us rational human being will choose higher option that give him bigger utility. Everyone of us must realize it. When we have no money, we want money, so they looking for income. When we have money we want food. When our stomach is full we want house to live in. When we settled we need somone to accompany us. When we have family we want to show to the world who are we. We want more and more.

But what in my thought is, what’s make somebody want to be better of. I mean, why dont somebody just sit down and relax in his house than searching for fame by doing something? So i am thinking, and the answer is the fuel of all hierarchy is ENVY-ness.

A college lazy student that study in the high-rank university (assumed that all of his friend are genius) will try to standardize his brain to all of his friend. Because in rational, this boy will fell so discomfort if he can’t reach the same level by in example; study harder. Why he become genius for later on? Because he is study harder for the sake of ENVY. He envys his friends that already reach the genius level.

Now imagine that a very lazy student (because there’s no stupid student) enter the low-rank university (assumed that all of his friend are lazy too). I guarantee that this student will not reach the same level as if he enter the high-rank university, because is he has no one to envy of.
Ladies and gentlemen, ENVY is really a fuel to change our hierarchy. There’s a lot of facts you can find is the real life. You can see it from working environment, why somebody one to obtain higher position.

But, there’s a proverb that say ‘Being thankful is ultimate medicine for envy-ness’. ENVY is the fuel for changing hierarchy. Why it need medicine? By thankful and medicize this envy, how can somebody move to better hierarchy? I just thinking there’s something wrong with this proverb. My opinion is thankful is not the medicine. For the reason, envy doesn’t need medicine. We should have envy-ness in ourself. Without it people never developed himself. But (i’m thinking again), a very high, ambitious, envy, makes you becoming a bad guy. You even legalize all your way to get your goal. People might steal or rob when they want money. People might bribe when they want a higher position. And a student, might cheat during the test, when they want high score. So, why this thankfulness is said to be medicine, because it stop a chance for somebody to do a bad behavior. It stop a criminal to rob money. It makes people think rationally. Mm, it just my opninion and my shallow thoughts. You can suggest your idea or correction in the comment section.

So people, be thankful!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Nerevarine
everybody is a superhero somehow

Is this our real life?

Have you ever think that the life that you've been living for is a real life? That's what Peter Parker said on the first Spiderman movie. But me? I'm just an ordinary man who is trying to write my thoughts on this HAKUNA MATATA thing. My name is Aulia Rachman Santosa and same with other writers on this blog, i am a 2nd year student of Economics Department in University of Indonesia. People used to call me Ulay. I don't know why, but i can guarantee that it doesn't have any relation with Titi Kamal. You know, the 'Jablay' song.
I have tried to write as serious as possible. But this is me. What is my life for? What is the meaning of this life? Why does life needs to be that short? What should I do in this short time? What is my goal to make this life meaningful?

It is always bothering me. There are about six billion of people in this world (I don't know for sure). I am just one between those six billion people. Do they all know me? Actually, I believe almost all of them don't know me. It feels like I am a nobody in this world. Just live for years for nothing. I don't even be called existed.

Well, that is the position of most of us. We live, we are actually live, but nobody know we live. Feels empty, doesn't it?

People in that condition is the people in the first Stage of Life. What is the stage of life? It is the current condition of your life reflecting your existency in this world, divided into three different stages. Well, literally, stage of life does not have that meaning. But the meaning my stage of life is that.

The first stage is NOBODY. They actually live in this world. But, not that many know of them. When they someday die, sooner or later, people will fully forget about their past existency. Most of people in this world start at this stage, live at this stage and die at this stage. They do not have any achievement. They failed on their attempt to reach their dreams. Or they choose to become Nobody, saying that they are incapable. They are probably unknown by the world. That's why I call them "The person that never was". They existed but nobody knows.

The second stage is EXISTENCY. People at this stage could prove his existency to the world. But only during lifetime. When they die, sooner or later, people will forget about them. They will fade away as the flow of time. BUt, at least, their existency will remain as long as those people who have seen their existency live and the number of people that have seen the existency is a lot more that those at the first stage. So, we can conclude that at least the existency of people at this stage could remain longer than those of the first stage. Only few of us could achieve this stage. Coz it's not easy to achieve this stage. We have to do something very big. Something that could be seen by others. What we need to achieve this stage is "The Proof of Existence".

The last stage in life, the final one, iss ETERNITY. People in this stage will never be forgotten by every single person in this world. They may be dead. But, their memories will never fade away. Only a very little, probably one in several years, that could achieve this. Because, achieving it might be impossible, but actually possible. They were granted the Eternity because they dare to face the inpossible. It needs hard work and dedication to achieve this stage. To achieve this stage, we have to do something very big, and significant enough to affect the life of almost all of sentient beings in present and the future.

Let us take example for the last stage. Isaac Newton, though his theorem of mechanics was critisized by Albert Einstein with the book of "Forgive Me, Newton", but his name remains existed until present with all of those development of technology that no longer use the simple theorem of Newton, but with signficant modification. His theorem is the root of all mechanics modern theorems. Moreover, we live with his simple theorem in our daily life. People will never forget about him since he has done something that change the life of all people in this world. People like Thomas Alpha Edison, Albert Einstein, Adam Smith, Franklin D. Roosevelt, etc are also people that have reach this stage.

Why would I call it eternity? Because, even when they die, people will never forget about them. They may be dead but they memories will remain in eternity. There is no absolute eternity in this world. This eternity is the only eternity that we can possibly achieve. The people at this stage are called "The Fadeless Memories".

Why do I call it 'The pyramid of Life'? Let see! Almost all of the people in this world live as the NOBODY, while few could achieve EXISTENCY and very little have step their feet on ETERNITY. The combination this stage creates a pyramid, where Nobody lies as the bottom, indicating that all people start at this stage, where Existency as the middle stage, and eternity lies on the top of the pyramid with little size indicating it is the stage where least people could achieve. That is the PYRAMID OF LIFE.

"People are grouped into three stages in their life. Most of them could only become 'Nobody', whom people could not prove that they ever existed. Few of them could achieve the 'Existency', who will eventually forgotten by time. And very little, probably only one in years, could find his 'Eternity', whose memories will never fade 'til the end of time. That is the Pyramid of Life"

-The Philosopher that Never Was-

It is our desicions whether we could achieve the eternity or stopped at the bottom stage. Do we want to become only a Nobody? I believe that everybody wants to achieve at least the Existency. Because, everybody wants to proof their existency. But, most people who could achieve the existency stopped at this stage. The do not want to continue because they think the eternity is impossible to achieve.

So, everything depends on our own judgement. The stage we are at now is the stage that we wanted to be. Whether we want to move forward is our desicions to make. Think about it, guys.. Do you want to stop being nobody? Wew, first posting. A bit scary for me. But I try my best. Here we go.

Amor es mentira, love is a lie. First time I saw this Spanish proverb, I was shocked. My crush wrote this as his shout out on friendster. What does he mean? Is love some kind of bullsh*t to him? That he doesn't believe in love at all? And I'm getting frustrated because I really have no idea what this proverb means. And of course, if he don't believe in love, it means that I have no chance to get into him.

But 3 months after I saw it, finally i got the answer. Fresh from the first hand (from my ex-crush who is becoming my boyfriend now).

He said that love can make somebody acts like someone else, can make somebody do something that he/she usually don't. It makes mature person become childish. It also makes a genius become a fool. Making a wise one become so rushed. And turns the sane become crazily driven. Vise versa. That's why Spanish people make this proverb, amor es mentira.

I thought about it for days. And reflect it on my own experience. And I think that this proverb has one very important variable, CHANGES. That people are willing to CHANGE because of love. Of course there's the positive and negative changes because of love itself to every single human being.

Well, sometimes love become a positive incentives to stop bad habit and start the good one. The heavy smoker stop smoking (or at least, try to stop) because the one they love hates smokers. Many examples that we can see in daily life. Not only habit, sometimes love can force us to change something bigger, like our way of thinking. I experience it by myself. I must follow the way my lover thinking, which much more mature because he 5 years older than me.

This changes are a better offs. A positive changes that can lead the human to be a better person. Well, although in my opinion, I don't believe changes made because of somebody else (not because of the individual willingness) lasts forever. Once the reason gone, we will back to the old person, before we change. Anyway, i called it as white lies. Lies made by love but good for the person.

But, there are other cases where the person are worsen by love itself. They do the things that in normal condition, are not acceptable. But they legitimate it by the name of blind love. It's common when a student had a bad scores and blame the “monkey love” for making them can not concentrate well. Or people do the crazy things to attract their crush.

And the worst cases usually happened when someone had a broken heart. Heart ache, because of love. Try to smoke, drink, or even drugs. To forget his/her pain. To kill it, actually. Not only damage physically, but mentally as well. Trauma, a deep wound in heart. Sometimes make someone's heart suffer ache, hatred, grudge. And i called it black lies. Okay, sounds stupid. But this because contrary to the white lies, this type of lies made by love are worsen the person.

My opinion, it depends the person who suffer love itself. Try to control the power of love to change it for good reason. Or let the love beat you, take you to dark places. Kills you.

Have you ever experience it? Please, share it. Or if you don't agree with me. Please, correct me if I have mistakes. Thanks.

ATTENTION NEWCOMERS!!!

We, The PihilosophIErs, invite those who are belong to Economics Department of UI, year 2006, to join our blog. It is a path that we have to walked at. When you fear of the life itself, you let the life conquer yourself. But, I would like to said 'Never let your life conquer you, it is you that have to conwuer the life itself'.

The name is Bagus Arya Wirapati, usually called Royben Studdard, and in this blog I am called 'The Philosopher that Never Was'. I am one of the PhilosophIErs just like the other two before my post and some after my post. Just like them, I am Economics Student at University of Indonesia and at the same year with them also (2006).

I usually talked about a thing called LIFE. Because it is the only thing that cannot be recovered (since we cannot turn back time, can we?). So, you will find me post something about LIFE essence (just like destiny, reason to live, friendship, goal of life, etc) in this blog. But, it doesn't mean that I will write anything else.

I want to share everything that I have to all of you. Don't bother to criticize me cuz we are at the same position after all, searching for truth. SO, let me know when you don't agree with my thinking by post your comments.

That's what I want to talk! Enjoy the blog and be inspired!
