hi..
well.. it's been months since the last i wrote on this blog. This is a very sensitive topic, so I warn you this is maybe offended posting, but I would love to know your oppinion.
We all know in almost any religion, suiciding is a sin. It's against God's will, that's what they used to say. But I come up with ideas yesterday. I personally belive in fate, destiny, or whatsoever. And the concept of destiny is, almost everything happened in your life is already written before you born. Well some can be change, and some other can't. Gender, spouse, and so about death. It's about when, where and how will you be dead.
Based on this hypothesis, there are two controversial statement that can be made. First is, if we do believe death is one of destiny then the suiciding that is actually succeded (end up with death), is God's will. The arguments that can support this statement is, nothing that can be made or happened without God's approval. So if someone wants to suicide and end with dead, then it's the way destiny wants.
The second is, if we refuse to make an excuse for the suiciding sin (back with the argument of 'against God's will'), we actually admit "human superiority" on God. We admit that suicide (the success one) is not only a mistake made by human, but also an error made by God. That means that although we can't postpone the time of our death, we actually can put forward the time of our death (by suiciding). In other word, we can interfere our own destiny in certain level, even the most important one.
I know this sounds so agnostic. But the reason why i post this is, I want an answer. And your oppinion, of course.

hoy min..i think this post is interesting one and maybe there will be much many opinion from discussing it..
well, i want to try discuss it with my opinion..well we know that GOD already written our destiny before we born..one of them is about death..for the problem aboce,i think GOD already written a lot of way for our faith..in the case of death, GOD written way of our death in many form maybe suicide, sick, or maybe we dead because we are old..and i think suicide is one of GOD will but it's the worst way of our faith that GOD give to us (it makes a very, very, very big sin that GOD hate it too)..because GOD has alredy given many ways to die but we choose the worst one..
so the conclusion is, the way of your faith about death is about your decision in this world..we know we take the way of suicide because we can't stand with our problem but it is the trial of life that GOD give to us..whether we can surpass the trial or we just give up with the trial and then we take the suicide..if we can surpass the trial and not take the suicide way, GOD will give us a lot of good things and help us to solve the problem..SO, "it's just ourself decision"..
ow..ow..
sin is everything, my friend.
Since we are not in a same framework interpretate-ing whether life is determined or not, I can not talk a lot in this post.
But I'll try tell you what I think about suicide. For me, I define suicide as a shortcut to end a life caused of several reasons that subject think, those reasons are sufficient enough to put his/her head in train railway.
I think suicide is just a matter of how big your selfishness dominate your minds compared to the joy that he/she alread y got.
Be wise, my friend.
Hmm.. Something interest me... When you pst this one, Uchal, Ichal, Aldi, Agil and I discussed it at the same time at The Thousand Islands. We make one conclusion, an absolute one, GOD's WILL, cuz it never ends, the discussion.
And here's my opinion.
One of my upcoming post, "A River Called Destiny". will explain it briefly, but I give you an abstract of my thought.
I believe that our life has been decided from the beginning, in the form of an 'unlimited branched river'. And that's our desicion to take the path. Everything is our choice. But, God, as the most genius being and moreover absolute, can predict what branch that a human will take, and that's the absolute destiny of DEATH.
hey.. roi.. i think that branch thing was my idea :)
yea.. this is a very hard question huh..
anybody.. has any other idea?
Well yes. That was based on your thought, even though it's a common sense for everyone. An 'Extended' one. The river i mentioned, has a 'Flow' called 'Fate'. That's why I'm stick with the idea of river and don't change it into any other analogy.
There are so many good and bad reasons to die, and there are so many noble and evil reasons to live, and yes no death happened without God's consent and / or approval.
To end one's life is not always bad, and to stay alive is not always the best choice, and so are the opposites conditions.
What one needs to do is to make sure that the decision is taken with clear mind, clean heart and solemn soul. Hence why the decision is taken does make the difference. The rest is fate.
Sin is made by human not God. Sin is listed under religion. God only said that we have to value our life, but how we value it depends on human.
Suicide doesn't mean that we don't value our life, suicide is the way we value our dissapointment to our belief.
So back to your question, if it is a sin then why it's succeed. The answer is because God let it happen as an aswer to other's question.
You may say it's a fate, but for me, that's how God communicate with us.
Interesting topic...
Pardon me, my English is not really good.
For me, God knows EVERYTHING, it means everything in the past, present, and future (God is not restricted by time and space). When you are trying to kill yourself, you have no idea if it's going to be succeed or not, but God knows (remember, there is no 'hidden future' for God).
In this case, we have to know that our point of view as human, and God's point of view as The Creator is absolutely different. We always think that we have a free will, merely because we don't know the future (but in other hand, God knows), but we have no right--and will never have the ability--to think in God's way. We can only live as human being, and think like human. We have choices to make, and that's our role in this life. Suicide is sin, question of why this can be happened as God's will, is pointless. We will never know. God has secrets, i think.
Theologists have the terminology, "predeterminism" vs "free will". Since we are human, it is healthier to ponder more on the "free will" spectrum than on the "predeterminism" side.
It is more like the person who says, "Let's fulfill all our desire today, for tomorrow we die" is using it for an excuse, while the person who says, "Let's find wisdom, for the time is near" is using it for the sake of wisdom itself.
The first person would likely say, "Let's die today, because it doesn't make any difference." The latter would likely say, "What a blessing that we still live today. So much to do. So little time."
Cultural traits in Japan are unique. I am not a student in Japanese studies, but even from pop culture we understand that suicide had been part of the samurai honor code. Even that way was a form of submission to a higher cause. Not controversing it.
